case / lang / veirs
case/lang/veirs is a one-of-a-kind event from three phenomenal, self-driven artists: avant-rock icon Neko Case, legendary musical nomad k.d. lang, and indie folk star Laura Veirs. Full of stunning harmonies and spellbinding rhythms, the music travels through aches and eras, torch songs and tributes to the undersung. It’s a unique combination of spirits, a union of accomplished musicians who have similarities but are also very different. case/lang/veirs is a truly collaborative record where the artists’ individual essences are firmly in place.
(neko case / k.d. lang / laura veirs) w/ Andy Shauf
Andy Shauf is a storyteller, a singer of heartbreak and regrets, isolation and loneliness, reflecting his prairie surroundings in Regina, Canada. Meticulously written over four years, Shauf's The Bearer of Bad News is a warm and welcoming album, bathed in weathered piano, dampened drums, softly-strummed guitars and clarinet, which lends its unique timbre to frequently brighten – or hauntingly underscore – the songs' darker undercurrents. Fans of Elliott Smith, Nick Drake and Harry Nilsson, take note.
